going intergalactic

A star goes into a supernova, and the mass that remains is dense. This mass has a gravitational force that begins to pull itself in, and the result is a black hole. The standard definition is a body whose mass creates gravity so strong, even light cannot escape it.

I would like to suggest that Washington, DC has become a black hole.

Well-meaning people go there, swearing that they will not become a slave to the system they ran against during the election. But as they enter the Beltway, you can almost see the energy and light being pulled out of them. And no energy ever escapes.

The Black Hole on the Potomac extends its pull far outside the district. Washington has managed to suck the creative energy out of most of the US population.

Further evidence: The matter at the center of the black hole is denser than the surrounding matter. Does it get much denser than inside the Beltway?
